Stefan Kondolay said:Hey Maddog,
This is not a joke, we take this kind of thing very seriously and so does Reactor, we were contacted by them today requesting our opinion on what happened to this plate. They were sent pictures but did not see the plate. At their request today it came in and Bill sent him his findings, he concurred but wanted us to overnight the flexlate to the SFI guys for analysis. They will independently have it analyzed . Bill went one step further and sent another plate we had in the shop to an independent testing facility to see if they could simulate the breakage they saw in the plate you sent me. You guys look at the plate above, it very clearly illustrates there was no rotational damage to the flexplate. In other words the engine was not turning when this flexplate broke. Bill wanted to be 100 % sure before he commented what he suspected happened occured. Since he is not a mechanical engineer or a metal specialist he refered it to the experts that did not care what Reactor or SFI had to say , they would give their analysis based on the damaged flexplate. We run this exact same flexplate by the same manufacturer as do a lot of other racers. This flexplate is turning at 7800 rpms in our car within 3 inches of our leg. When I tell you this is not a joke , you better believe we mean it. It will all be handled by professionals from here on, Reactor is a very very serious company and this is what they do, they are awaiting the SFI analysis, this is very serious and all involved with be dealt with accordingly.
