I am ordering the Horton setup soon. I have had 2 instances on gas cars that had Flex-a-lite electric fans that failed. In one instance the radiator petcok blew off. The other case he shutdown before it overheated. They make nice stuff, but i dont trust an electric fan on a $4,000 engine. Just my 2c

I've been fanless most of the winter. With the Lund winterfront on, I'm OK till about 65 degrees @ highway speeds.
I just put the fan back on today because I want to go out in the TT soon.
Wacky weather. 20 out the night before last, Sunday theyre calling for 85!! ?? #ad

This debate will probably out live our trucks. If one reads the entire thread above, it is hard not to reach the conclusion that 'it depends on the application'.....

I have not removed my fan, but will next winter. I block all but about 6-8" circle in the center of my radiator with a hunk of thin plywood. That comes out when the temp hits about 32F if I am on the highway, as my gauge will start to show far too much heat.

If my OEM fan clutch ever goes, I will likely try the electric solution. (only because I don't really push the truck that hard except when I come back from visiting the diesel gang in California) #ad

the debate continues...

MUD SEASON + AN OVERPOWERED RAM = DIRT DIRT DIRT #ad
