I seen that flex-a-lite had a fan for our trucks out now. I emailed them for more info and received none. Their site is difficult to navigate but they did send me to the right spot. The part number is 31163 it has its own temp sensor. it draws 28-36 amps. It says its for trucks w/o an electric clutch. It also says not to tow over 18,000 lbs GCW. I think that eliminates almost everyone. Maybe they are just covering their backside by the tow rating. Aren't all the fans equipped with an electric clutch. I have no idea on pricing. I am trying to find a solution to the poor stock clutch problem. It doesn't look like this is the answer.

Why would you not do this? I was looking at this for my CRD. I mainly drive town/highway with some towing of 5er and a good load occassionally.

You don't gain any power or fuel economy by installing the electric fans. Joe Donnelly has tested this. The reason I was looking into it as the stock fan clutch system has a poor track record and mine needs replacing. Maybe they are ok but someone who put one on another vehicle should speak up. If it cannot adequately cool towing a load why would they sell it let alone anyone buy it. Hope this helps Don. TTFN
