Why do flies bang their heads against windows? Can't they see glass?

Pestilence peeves me quite profoundly. Dead flies. Three counties' worth. On the front of my beautiful black Cummins Ram.

So far I've hit & killed 14 birds, and 6 million flies since taking ownership.

The only flies I know are the one on my jeans and the ones flying around outside from dem hogpens that are around here. Plenty of buzzards too. Fire ants. Skeeters. Mesquite.

Bottle flies seem to be slower than house flies, easier to catch in your hand as you swipe it across the table etc. then dash 'em on something harded than their bodies (like a cheap wine glass in the fireplace).
