on my 93 i just bought it has a gooseneck ball that is frozen with the ball facing the axle. i can't find who makes the hitch, it has a release lever you pull right above the drivers rear tire to release the receiver that i think you should be able to pull up and flip so ball is facing the sky, right now ball down and frozen if any one has any hints or might know where i could get a replacement ball looks like 2. 5" reciever so i could cut it out i would appreciate it. thanks brad greene

It sounds like a B & W Turn over ball hitch

Pull on the handle and swing the bottom of the lever forward toward the cab. It should stay out. boatpullers ideas are great. You could also go the the parts store and buy a can of freezeit. Give it a healthy wack with an 8 lb. hammer. They are very tight when new. Mine froze on me had to use hot water.

I Had this happen to mine once. I used penetrating oil and a fencing pliers. It's all I had out in the country. Dinged up the top of the ball alittle but not to bad, just a couple of off center hits.

Mine got stuck earlier in the year. Had hauled a bunch of gravel and the dust had worked its way into the reciever and kept me from being able to pull it out. I just crawled underneath and hit with a hammer a few times (not too hard) and it came up pretty easy.

Ugh been there too! If it is a B&W, there should be a 1/4" bolt holding the rod to the pin release. Make sure the bolt is tight. If pin is frozen, you should be able to access it underneath on the passenger side of the hitch. Forget what size the pin is , but some steel roundstock with the edges ground to a taper can help to tap against the pin. Heat, let slightly cool, hit it with penetrating oil. Repeat the process. Trial of the virtue of patience. :) Also a few hits to the ball side to side might loosen it up. Just my . 02 Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Thanks for all the advice found replacement ball fo $60 so i will cut it out after one more attempt at pb blaster heat and snow. we spent an hour last time heating to point of melting away some of my bed and quenching with snow, just can't get a real good swing.
