My girlfriend bought me a vinyl floor to replace the very cheesy carpet in my 92 (actually, it is more felt than carpet). The vinyl piece seems quite heavy and will work well enough in my pickup, but they sent a VERY minimal amount of insulation, like barely enough to do a regular cab if you cut out around the seat mounts and scrap it in. I would like to get something to do the entire floor area, firewall to rear of the cab. I am not so interested in softness under the dogs' feet as I am interested in soundproofing and insualation (esp to cut the AC workload in the summer). I am considering doing the sides of the rear portion of the cab while I have it all apart. How good is the stuff from Geno's? What about the dynamat (or some similar name) that someone worte an article about in the TDR magazine? Any other options? What can I expect in terms of price? i am just now beginning my search, so I may come across something before I get many replies.

Thanks,

Daniel

I covered the whole interior with 4 coats of Herculiner, and then 2 layers of Dynamat, and then installed the new vinyl flooring. It Really made a difference, especially with road noise.

I've often thought about using ice sheild like what's used in roofing along the edge of the roof? It comes in 36" wide rolls, real sticky and about an 1/8" thick? Home Depot or the like has it - I think it's like $30 a roll and 36" X 20'??? It's been about 6 years sine I did my roof so not sure on price and length of the roll. I'll bet it'll work though.

Thanks for all the input guys. Still undecided about what I want to go with, but at least I have some idea of prices and what is available.
