If I wanted to install the 3" leveling kit myself, what floor jack should I get??? On the leveling kit it say you have to have the tires off the ground.

Its for a 05 3500 Diesel. Taking it to a dealership is out of the question.

Links would be great.

Here's the one I've got. One stroke of the handle raises the jack to the vehicle. A really nice feature. It also comes with jack stands. It's on sale now too!

3. 5 ton floor jack with jack stands

It will easily lift the entire front end, Cummins and all, completely off the ground.

i've got a pair of 3-ton floor jacks, and either will lift the truck high enough get the front end off the ground... i guess they [for the lift] want the front axke at full droop, so you just jack the front end up enough to support the frame with stands and remove the tires, then lower it back down... you should have enough there to be at full droop. .

[why 2 jacks? got one long ago, and got another last year as it was on sale jack kit with jackstands which i needed, so buy jackstands, get free floorjack i told myself ;)]

I have the one in the link, only mine is a 4 ton. Don't get the all black 3 ton if you value your live. I have a shattered big tow from that jack failing.

I've had several different Sears jacks and all were JUNK. Recently I broke down and spent the money on a NAPA Professional 3 1/2 ton jack with the one pump to raise feature and it's light years ahead of my "professional" Sears jack. Although, it may have cost almost 3 times as much as my "professional" Sears jack, it's 3 times the jack.

I have been very happy with my costco jack. It's 3 1/2 tons and we beat the hell out of it everyday lifting trucks, forklifts, tractors, you name it. As with everything at costco, if you aren't happy you can take it back ANYTIME. It was reasonably priced also (~70?).
