I was flipping through a trawler magazine the other day and noticed an ad for FloScan fuel flow gauges. One of their gauges (Series 7000 multifunction) is a combined tach/fuel flow gauge, and immediately started drooling.

I don't have a tach in my truck, but have been seriously thinking about getting one. Seeing this FloScan gauge, I thought as long as I was getting a tach it'd be cool to also have the fuel flow measurement.

There is a big downside though--these appear to be extremely pricey. It looks like about $800 for the one I mentioned above. :(

Anyone have one of these in their boat?

I too would love to have a flow meter. Diesels require two flow sensors, one for supply line and one for the return line too. Then they require a computer to subtract the return flow from the supply flow to get the usage. Of course fuel injected gas engines require this too. Anyway, it all adds to the price. Dang!:(

Me too. Been looking at FloScans for years trying to justify the cost. Sure would be great to get correct instantaneous mpgs.
