Tommorow I plan on changing my the fluid in my diff's, transmission, and trans case. Any recommendations on what to use other than what is specified in the manual? Should I go with synthetics or put in any additives? I think that slick50/prolong type things are junk for engines but I have heard of good things about them in trannys. Amsoil is not an option as I don't have a local source and need to do the fluid changes tomorrow.

I started using Redline Products about four years ago. I wouldn't hesitate to run MTL in the transmission and 75W/90 in the Rearend. As for the T-case just good ol ATF+4 is what I run. I hope this helps.

I used Redline in my 4x4 Toyota. Great engine, transfer case and transmission oil, but keep an eye on the diff oil. I had rust problems and premature spider gear wear. The engine and transmission is still running like new at 200,000 miles. Sold it to my buddy at 153,000.

I use Lubrication Engineers in my Ram in all except the 6 speed. Seems to be working great at 30,000 miles, but the real test is 170,000 miles away. :D
