I have the 6speed just pulled the pto cover drained the fluid and added oil back in on the fill plug on the drivers side. It only took 3 1/2 quarts and started running out so I put the plug back in there seems to be a fill on the top on the passenger side do i need to put the other 1 1/2 quarts in that it says or should i be full now? Any help would be greatly appreciated don't want to drive tonight if it is low. Thanks Kevin:confused:

I just did what you did, I filled to the plug then stopped, it runs fine for me. I was contemplating running the truck up on a ramp on the left side to tip it and put more in that way... .

I called the dealer and they said that some of it just didn't drain out all the way. It sure does shift allot better but for $10 a quart it should. Thanks again Kevin

Kevin,

The next time that you change it, pull both PTO covers and you will better be able to get all of the lube out. There is also a thin magnet in the bottom of the transmission that will have some black fuzzy stuff on it that should be removed and cleaned.

I doubt that it will make a 1. 5qt difference but, you will be able to get more of the contaminants out. If you really want to increase the capacity of the unit, consider the Fast Coolers. Then you will be able to get the additional 1. 5qts in.
