i have a fluid leak on a 04 2500 4 wheel drive. looked in form saw nothing like it. a clear fluid that looks and taste like hydrolic fluid. it is runing down the right rear of the engine block. just started. check brake fluid level an it was down so filled it up and went for a drive. still leaking and break fluid leave apears to have stay the same. brake line all dry. is there a line that run over the back of the trans back to the master cylinder?

going to shop monday but would like some info beore than.

thanks for any help

Auto or Manual? The only other thing that has brake fluid would be your master cylinder for the clutch. I'm not sure if that's what would be leaking, something to check though.

If you tasted it... . brake fluid leaves a nasty taste in your mouth that you can't wash out... oil, hydraulic fluid and other petroleum products usually can be washed out...

JKreiss is right... we need to know what transmission you have... BTW - thank you for your service

Take a look under the exhaust manifold at the rear and there is a coolant hose that connects some metal heater pipes. It sits close to the manifold and they are bad about leaking.

the truck has an auto trans. collecte some of the fluid in a plastic container and it is clear. i can see where it is wet coming down the rear right had side and driping from the bell houseing. can see nothing from upabove only from under the truck

check the master cylender and all is dry

any other ideas?

Wonder if it could be coming from your blow by tube? oil vapor condensing? maybe try cleaning the filter under the valve cover.
