4B juice up...anyone done it?

Hey guys I was wondering if adding a one of the new Fluidamper harmonic balancers (if it fits the 4BT as well) would be beneficial in taming the 4BT?

I'd love to drop one into a Dakota and this might make it even nicer.

Rob, There is a harmonic balancer off of a marine 4BTA that you could use. If your goal is to reduce the vibration at idle and throuth out the rpm range the harmonic balancer will be of little help. Best bet is some Fluidlastic mounts if you have room for them or you could do like I did and drill two 3/8's holes lenght wise through the 92 dodge 6BTA mounts. This works very well and reducing the felt vibration.

Does the drilling of thr hole really help thet much?? do you have pics??

As a matter of fact I do have a pic's. Follow the links on my signature and look for a album call "4BT engne mount modifacation". I have before and after pic showing the decrease in vibration.

Steve;

What is the thickness of the rubber isolators (89-93 Dodge), and the length of the bolts out the top and bottom of the isolators ? DO you have a Mopar Part Number ?

Thanks

The thickness of the rubber is 1. 25" thick and over all their 1. 7" thick. The studs are 1. 25" long. I don't have a part number in hand, but I ordered them for my truck; a 92 W250 Diesel from a local Car Quest parts house. If you buy them from any one but Dodge be warned, The suppliers do no all way use UNC threads (American INCH). I bought a pair for the Willys and one was threaded for 1/2 20 and the other one was threaded for13mm thread.
