Besides the clearance issue some are having with the 12v's, Here's my experience:
1. I recieved the Fluidampr within a reasonable amount of time, but only to be the wrong PN for my rig... ... . oh well, human error.
2. I recieved the second one in a flimsy box. Pulled the Fluidampr out to notice damage in a critical spot, right where the outside of the belt runs the last "V" was smushed in. I attribute this to poor packaging mostly seeing as the most critical part was facing down and the only padding was a handfull of peanuts. There was also a cut in the box that directly matched up with the part that was damaged. Some might say a shipping problem but I tend to lean more towards flat out poor packaging for a part like this.
3. Another one comes last night, in the factory box. Drumroll... ... ... . can't belive what I'm seeing this time :{ A dent on the outside of the last "V" again. Much smaller than the second one. I can only conclude that this one most certianly happened at the factory, the packaging was not damaged in any way and the dent must have hiy some metal somewhere before it got into the box.
I'm pooped on this issue. Should I have a machine shop see if they can remove the tiny ammount of material in the last V groove ?? I hate to put file in there and create any sort of other anomaly for the belt to rub on.
This just seems like the kind of part that has to be dead d**k on or it's a no go to me.
Sad thing is, the wife thinks I'm nuts now and getting anymore mods out of our budget will be like pulling teeth :-{} .
Sorry for the rant, what would you do ??
