I just bought a used Fluidampr and crank sensor relocation bracket (new) for my '96. The used damper with a new sensor bracket kit cost me a little over $300 shipped. It seemed to be about as good a price as those dampers ever get...

Before I tear into things (and finally do the KDP tab  ) and replace the stock damper, I thought it might be wise to get some input on anything I ought to watch out for or do when installing the parts.

I can't believe how big and heavy this Fluidampr is... I hope it is worth it.

Pretty straight forward. Did mine last year, already had the kdp job done earlier.

Did you get any instructions with it? I think I can find mine if you need a copy.

Don't bother with the silly wiring extension they send. It's barely suited for trailer wiring  . It's easier to open up the conduit on the harness and free up enough of the factory harness to run the wiring right down the front left of the timing cover. That's how I did it, much cleaner and no breaks in the factory harness.

I haven't opened the small parts bag for the relocation bracket yet, but it appears to have an instruction or packing sheet in it. I have nothing for the damper itself, though. If you have a copy you can email or fax, hsmith, I would appreciate it.

Using new bolts sounds like a smart choice.

I did look at that wiring harness and connectors in the plastic bag and I definitely agree it doesn't look very durable or weatherproof. No way scotchlock tap connectors will hold up very long without corroding. I'll see how much slack I can get out of the factory harness. The last thing this dodge needs is more electrical problems from crappy wiring...

Thanks guys! Scott
