I am about to change out all of the fluids in my truck. I know your thinking "Oh no... . not another what fluid should I use thread", but here me out. When searching you get so many answers and other "should be ok" for types of fluid. I just want to be sure my answers are correct.

transmission Fluid - Thinking ATF+4 as I have the 47RE. I also have a lowerstall TQ converter from the P. O. I have no idea what kind of T-fluid is in there now. I have read about not mixing certain types of transmission fluid. Would I be alright just draining, swaping filter and filling with ATF+4 NAPA brand. I was thinking of going AMSOIL, but I'd like to start changing the transmission oil at 15-20k intervals and boy can that get expensive.

Also, would a standard NAPA transmission filter be good to go?

Rear Diff Fluid - Finding all sorts of mixed info here. What do you recommend?

I am still searching for info on what T-case fluid and front diff. Not sure of what intervals would be best for these two.

Thanks,
Jeff

I hear ya, brother. It used to be you either used Dexron or Type F. Those were the only two available. Very simple.

Nowadays, every time they build a new model auto transmission, they also invent a whole new ATF. Throw in the t-case requirements, and it's a crapshoot.

Truck now has 522000kms ( 320,000 k +) transmission and rear ends are original with no repairs except fluid changes Trans pensoil atf+4, rear end pensoil 75/90. Non slip diff has mopar addative.
