Tight Wad Solution.
I shop for the best warranty. I put the cash register receipt and the warranty in an envelope, and literally nailed it to the wooden wall in the utility area. It is labeled "Kitchen light bulbs--warranted until 2014". I did this because the chances of keeping this in mind and in a file where I can find it are pretty slim. Similar strategy could be used for each room in the house. After all,how can you remember WHERE you install that seven year warrantied light bulb? I like the warranties where you return them to the store where purchased.
I bought a 1. 3 watt LED for nine bucks and the hot melt glue used for assembly made the thing die on the dash of my truck. Got my money back right away
