Has anyone had experience removing/replacing the fog lamp unit (not bulb) on a 2001 RAM SLT? Dealer says it will take most of a day, the bumper has to be removed. Say its not true!
Had to remove the bumper to install factory fog lights on 99. The are bolte to the metal part of the bumper and the bolts are covered by yhe plastic. bg
I got to my 98's by using a flex socket from under the bumper, its tight but I think it took around 1/2 hour to R@R them (additional time to convert the brackets over to CATZ lights)
What you to have to do is remove the complete light and bracket, much easer

You can R/R a bumper in under an hour. there are 6 bolts that hold it on. With a can of wd-40 and a ratchet you can have it of in 15-20 min. An impact would cut it to 5 and half of that would be unplugging the fog lights.
The bumper is very light for it's size and can be installed by one man in 20 min or less w/ ratchet.
When I put Piaas on mine I did it without taking the bumper off but its tight fit. I'm going to replace them with Catz but this time I think I will take the bumper off. Sounds like its a lot easier.
My eleven year son and I installed the fog lights and replace the bumper in a double of hours. Wiring took just as long. Jack stands are nice to rest the bumper on when unbolting or reinstalling it. While you have the bumper bolts loose, it a good time to put the pull hooks on. I picked up a new set complete kit on Ebay for $75
