I rigged my factory fogs to come on with the high beams. Lights up the road much better than without the fogs on.

I don't run around with my fog lights on when I'm in traffic or in town like most people do on low beam. It's illegal in Texas to run fog lights when it's not foggy. First ticket was $60, they said the next one would be $200.

Interesting. I usually run with the fogs in the city just so the headlights aren't shining in the rear window or mirrors of the car ahead of me at stoplights.

(and passing on the shoulder if you're in a hurry or riding around with open beer is legal there  ) Go figure.

easy way to do fog lights if you don't mind fog lights on when parking lights are on solder a 18 or 20 ga wire from pin 86 fog lamp relay to pin 85 park lamp relay, lights are on whenever switch turned is turned to first pos.

I think the rule on passing in Texas is to pull over on the shoulder, if feasible, to let someone in a hurry pass even if you are traveling at the speed limit.

As far as drinking and driving is concerned, now you can't have an open alcohol container in the vehicle. There was a time when many convenience stores had a drive through window that served mixed drinks, wine and beer but that all ended in the mid '80's. If you blow more that . 10 now you are in major trouble, no exceptions. The third offense is a felony and you will get at least 10 years. Usually get out in 11 months and probation for life. Best not to drive and drink in Texas. Before anyone thinks I must have personal experience with the drinking and driving thing, not, I've never been stopped while I was drunk. That fact might have something to do with the 2 rifles and 1 shotgun I have hanging in my rear window.

Just kidding about the guns. Mine is concealed.

Thanks for the clarification. I saw a lot of people passing on the left and right shoulders on the expressway around Houston and was told it was legal. (same with the beer)

There were a lot of other strange sights as well. I saw a few guys riding wheelies on their crotch rockets passing in the bullet lane.

(but I'm WAY off the subject now  )
