Yikes, I replaced my Passenger side Foglight for the SECOND time this summer. Drivers side was OEM and cloudy due to age of my 2005 Ram.

While changing the Oil last week on the lift and doing an inspection, I discovered the passenger side Fog light is already cracked/broken and now even the Drivers Side Foglight has a hole in it!

I rarely use/have need for the Foglights (live in AL and spend winters in TX) and wonder if I should just remove them versus wasting more time and money replacing them.

Opinions and suggestions appreciated.

With the exception of the last time my TIPM failed and my fog lights come on randomly and would be stuck on until I disconnected the batteries, I can probably count on one hand the number of times I have used my fog lights.

Even with as few times as I have used them, I would replace mine if one of them failed or was broken. The few times I have used them over the years they have worked well and I'd hate not to have them when I needed them.

I use my fog lights every time I drive when it’s dark. I angled both of mine a little outwards and they light up the ditches a lot. Makes it a lot better for seeing eyeballs.

Mine are on anytime the truck is running, Day or night. Use them as a DRL during the day and as supplemental lighting at night.

I bought a replacement pair from Geno’s a few years back and I have been very happy with them!!

Running with them on just screws up long distance vision. Like the brain-dead and LED lightbars.

Fog lights are for short distance only.

Yup and on the roads I drive every night filled with all sized critters just waiting to be transformed into dinner (OK mostly kidding about the dinner part, but definitely suicidal critters of ALL sizes), I need ALL the help I can get in short distance, as well as long throw BRIGHT lighting!!!

Here is a pic of the front of my truck, with EACH sets of lights independently operaterable, including the WARN dual beam fog/drive lights that I retrofitted into the factory fog light location. And I STILL plan on retrofitting a pic of LS430 HID projectors into the oem headlight housings for the ultimate in wide throw, forward lighting !!!

Of course, when someone is approaching me from the other side of the road, or when I am getting closer to the back of another vehicle, ALL auxiliary lights are turned off, EXCEPT the oem headlights and Warn foglights.

ALSO NOTE : the 1953 Ram hood ornament seen mounted just below the KC daylight's on the light bar is for AIMING purposes only for when a critter jumps out in fort of me. It is in fact the most forward point of the truck!!! LOL

I’m completely confused with this whole post. Maybe because I’m brain-dead from the use of my LED lights and fog lights. But I must admit, my long distance vision is not screwed up, it’s rather perfect. With my fog/LED lights on, I can see eyeballs a LONG way out.

My '05 had them, and I used them all the time. They sorta "filled in" the beam pattern, and lit the bar ditch a bit. This is open range country, and a black cow at night can put a hurtin' on you. My '15 is a Tradesman, and what I miss the most is those lights.

Same way with the Moose up here, their eyes do not reflect headlights like a deer. Need all the light you can get especially in the rain. They are just a big black mass once you see them.

Besides, I-95 belongs to them, they just let us use it.....o_O

The foglights are mounted in a sacrificial location. My drivers side cracked and Robin for TDR sourced some 3M covers for them.
That was 10 yrs ago. Still doing fine.
