Hey guys,

The setup:

I've got an '01. 5. I hit a deer a year or two ago, and had the dealer switch the front end to the sport package when the repairs were made. I'm selling the truck now, and want to (finally) get those (sport) fog light holes filled. I didn't switch to the sport headlights, so I just want to essentially wire up the sport fog lights as if they were the regular non-sport fogs.

I have located the factory plug under the radiator, so I assume I've got the factory wiring for the fogs. I have spaces for the two PDC relays I've read about here, one is for the sport headlights and one for the fog lights, but of course both are empty. I am planning on replacing my headlight switch with one that includes the fog light switch and uses the factory wiring. The aftermarket fog lamp assemblies are already installed (and look descent enough). I haven't decided yet whether to get a relay or jump it to keep the fogs on with the brights.

The question:

I've pulled the dash panels and removed my non-fog light headlight switch. I was expecting to find an unused plug behind the switch that I would simply plug into the new factory switch when I get it. However, there is no extra plug. Will the new switch simply activate wiring already present in the harness, or is there somewhere else to look for the phantom plug? I've looked behind the airbag switch and the radio, but nothing extra there either.

Any help would be great, I really don't want to drill a hole for a new dash switch if I can get the factory look, and I want to get this thing listed ASAP.

Thanks!

Don't know if this is pertinant but I added factory lights to a 99 I had. I had to buy a wire harness and a relay that mounted outside the PDC to do the job. bg

question answered

Ok, I didn't want to buy the switch on faith, but I guess everybody here was at the BBQ all weekend.

Just to button this up, I bought the switch today, wired it up and it worked just fine. So if the truck already has wiring for the factory fogs, just swap the switch and add the relay and you're good to go. No searching for a different plug necessary.
