a friend of mine has a 2007 big horn 3500 cimmins ram and wannts to be able to have the fog lights on with the high beams like i did to my 2000 cummins. is there an easy way to do this like on the older ones? looked around a bit and didn't find any info. so thought i'd put it out there. thanx bob

Dealer will have to go into the ECM and change a couple settings.

Do you know for sure that the dealer can do this? I really want to do this on mine also. That was one of the first things I did on my old '01. 5. We have alot of deer and the last thing I want is one of them for a hood ornament!!

When i had my POS bully dog downloader it had a feature to do that. So i would assume the dealer could do that?

Hope this helps.

I stuck a set of Mopars on the truck cause it didn't come with any. There was a sheet instructing that you had to take it to the dealer to flash the ecm so it recognized the lamps, so they worked. F 2, pushed the lamp button in and they lit up. Even stayed lit w/ the brights on. So anyway, you might be able to get the dealer to change that option.

thanx for all the info, i'll pass it along. sounds like it's going to be a lot more involved than doing it on my 2000. i doubt he'll want to tear up his switch so maybe we'll check out the dealer option. thanx;bob

All I did was tap into the high beam wire going to one of my head lights and used a $20 relay that is typically used for fog lights and come in a kit with a switch. The high beam wire only feeds the relay so it draws next to nothing for the line. I installed the switch in the cab so that I can turn off the feature if I want. I have also done the same switching set up for the off road lights that I have on the bull bar also with the switch in the cab. Now when I put on my high beams I get the fogs and off road lights automaticlly the the switching of the stock high beams. There's not much that I don't see at night with this set up. If i'm in a high trafic area and am concerned about being to bright to the wrong car that comes over a hill unexpectedly (cops) then I can turn off the fog or off road or both with the switches that I put in the cab and funtion like a stock truck.

Great idea... where did you mount the switch(es) in the cab. Got photos?? TIA!!

These switches have little lights in them that come on when the lights are on. The only down side is that if you drive with just your daytime running lights in the day time, the fog/off road lights will be on also and will need to be turned off. I always turn on my lights anyway on low beam during the day so then my fog/off road lights don't come on till I turn the high beams on. The day time running lights are acually the high beams at a lower voltage. I don't know if the U. S. trucks have daytime running lights as this is a Canadian requirement and I know it is one of the issues that we have in bringing U. S. trucks up here, they have to be added. So the daytime issue might not apply to americans.

I have a '96' so no computer to fool, but I used a relay fired by the parking or clearance lights. I also have a cab mounted switch. That way my after market fog lights can be on any time I have lights on.

You can reprogram the computer on my '05 to run US or Canadian lights, so if you want day time running lights, it's just a matter of setting it to the Canadian setting.

I installed the factory fog lights on my truck and the a new light switch that replaced the stock one.

My fog lights will work with high or low beams on.
