OK, mabey this is not a real 911, but just found out the fog lights do not work. checked fuses, and the relay, (swaped it for the horn horn works fog lights don't. I have read some posts about faulty head light switches, thought they were in older models, (see signiture).

Any thoughts before I start rippings into the wiring etc???? thanks in advance!

Well, I posted on this awhile ago. My RH fog light failed, so I replaced the assembly. No help, so started tracking it down with my trusty Fluke 77. I found voltage at the socket, still no worky, so started pulling the harness apart, starting at the socket.

Quoting the famous Arty Johnson from Laugh-in days, "Verrrry interesting!" Seems the yahoos at the Mexico plant pinch one of the wires in the slit of the plastic harness loom. What I found was several inches of copper wire turned to green dust from the resulting intrusion of salt water and other moisture over a two year period. The "green dust" would conduct voltage, but carried no current.

Might be a path you will need to travel. My dealer tech had also indicated a bad light switch, but replacing the bad wire did the trick.

Hope this helps.

I guess they moved or copied this post, just finished reply at 911 forum. long story short, it was the switch, local dodge dealer helped find someone with switch, total <$40 I am impressed... :--) I changed the stock 39 watt fog lamps to 55 watt will see tonight if they are anybetter!!!

Just be respectfull of other drivers and turn them off when approching on coming traffic. I only use mine when it is foggy. Some cars have very bright fog lights and they use them when there is no fog in sight. I have a set of Hella Rallye driving lights hooked up to the high beams( they way driving lights are supposed to be) that I flash letting them know to turn off their fog lights.

Sorry but that is my pet peav. You have dim lights so you won't blind other people, so why would you wan't to make dim lights brighter? That is why there is high beam and driving lights.

With my set-up I can see 1/2 mile down the road and I have been told ( by flashing the high beams) to dim mine from about a mile away. Don't need any bright box, it would not make a difference for me anyhow.

I've burned out several fog light bulbs in only two years of ownership. I even use the lower-stock wattage bulbs. One thing I do like is when I blow by people and give them to soot treatment they give me the brights. It has no effect with the tinted rear window and the nifty mirror dimmer. :p

SAME PROBLEM WITH MY LIGHTS. I FINALLY TRACED IT TO THE LIGHT SWITCH. I PULLED THE SWITCH APART. THERE IS A LITTLE PIECE OF COPPER ON THE BACK END OF THE KNOB. IT BROKE OFF. I FILED THE END FLAT, DRILLED IT FOR A SCREW. EASY FIX. NO $40 FOR THE DEALER. I RUN 55 WATT BULBS WITH NO PROBLEM.

Forget the stock crap.

Put in a set of Piaa 510's. Put 85 watt super white bulbs in mine and added a relay so as to not burn up the switch. Now if only I could get people to stop flashing their lights at me. ;) :D

Why would you want a set of lights that only help blind people and then turn off with high beams? Low beams are so you dont blind people which makes the road safe. If you come at me I will turn of my brights that have a pair of Hella Rallye's driving lights that can blind you from a mile away. They are street legal to be used as "Driving lights", the ones hooked up to high beams. If you want to see better and don't care about the other people on the road, just drive with you're high beams on all the time. You will be able to see better that way better than having fog lights. Remember "fog" lights are to be used for fog.

Actually I have bypassed the relay that turns them off with the high beams. Whats the point of driving lights that turn off when the high beams are on. Also these are driving light, not fog lights. Fog lights in Seattle would get used maybe once a year. :)

Well do you turn them off when on-coming traffic approches. I have my driving lights hooked to the high beams so I only have to dim my head lights and they turn off. A lot easier to do than flip another switch. BTY the difference in fog and driving is how they are used. Fog is used with low beams and driving is used with high beams. Some manufactors use very bright lights for fog. Mits. eclipse, ford rangers, mustangs, and F150's. Then there are Jeep YJ's and TJ's along with ford explorers and ford's superduties that have dims so bright that there is no difference between high and low. The NTSB has been getting a lot of complaints about how auto makers are making low beams and fog lights so bright.

Sorry for the long post, it is just a pet peav of mine. Hey I have to have one. My only other one is when people wait till the face you or wait till they see your headlights before dimming.
