I am going to be putting these on my truck 'cause it did not come with them when new. There are two types from what the parts man told me. I ordered the ones for installation of the fog lamps in the future. Looking in the FSM it seems to show them to be mounted with blind plastic rivets inside the bumper and need to know will I have to remove the bumper to install them and how much of a PITA will this be?
TIA

Phil

Yep, you have to remove the bumper. Get help from a friend and use a jack or something to get it back into position.

Which foglites are you going to install? Reason I ask is because the Dodge foglite kit comes with a new pair of sight shields.

The shields for the foglites have bigger holes than the non-foglite shields.

Mike

I got the ones for installation of the Mopar fog lamps. Yes the holes are bigger and also have four little tabs around the inside of the hole for holding the lites in. Sh*t, if I had known that they came with the foglamp package I probably wouldn't have ordered them

OH WELL!

Don't fret Phil.

There are a lot of posts on how the shields crack . . look on the bright side. You'll have a couple of spares for later.

Anyone have some pics of an add-on install? You have a digital camera Phil?

Good luck.
Michael

madams,

Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera(yet)anyway.
The bumper was a piece of cake to remove. Did it by myself. Just removed the upper and lower fascia panels together pressing the plastic tabs in then using a torx bit to remove the bottom bolts and acces was gained to remove the four bumper-to-frame carriage bolts and the two bolts holding the sides to the support braces in, 18mm combo. wrench for all nuts. I just let the bumper hang on the top two bolts last before I removed it. It was not heavy at all. Sounds complicated but it's not. Only took me two hours tops! The Job went well and looks much better now that the gaping holes are filled in.
Can't even see the air horns anymore. (but you can still hear 'em)!

I'll check other options for lights that will fit before going back to the dealer. They want $165 bucks for the foglamp kit. OUCH! #ad
.

Good day!
