I remember a while back some people were wondering how to do this. I finally ran across this again, a couple years ago I printed it off, took it and the truck to dealer, tech had never heard of it but said he'd try. It works.

Star scan Main Menu > ECU view > FCM/CGW > Misc. Functions > Enable Front Fog Lamp Output > Start > Next > Disable > Next > Cancel > Start > Next > Enable > Next > Export > Next > Finish

i'm not certain. i'm pretty sure it won't hurt to try. if it doesn't work, have them switch your trucks settings to european/import and this will allow the fogs and highs to be on simultaniously as well

id never go back to that dealership again. Actually, what is illegal is bright lighting oncoming traffic (with or without fogs on). so, typically when you would want fogs and highs in when driving in the country where theres not a ton of traffic but you need all the visibility you can get. it's nice to know that he's more concerned with micromanaging his customers via the law than he is about their safety. hopefully he didn't put a governor on your truck to make sure you can't speed.

Got the equipment from Geno's several years ago. Fog lights on with highs & lows. High & lows on at the same time with fogs. Works great - never a problem. Bill

The factory programs fog lights to be illuminated only with low beams because it is a DOT rule.

A private owner will probably never be cited for it but commercial drivers can be. OTR drivers know that and you'll seldom see a big truck with high beams and fog lights on at same time.

I guess I am getting old and crabby as I only use mine for fog. It irritates me when I look into them from oncoming traffic on a clear night.

The SMARTY will allow this function to be set. Driving out in the dark desert I like to illuminate the sides of the road with the fogs and reach way down the highway with high beams.

Are you sure? It didn't work on my dad's 06, so he bought a brite box.

I believe the procedure listed by the OP will only work on 06+ trucks, I spent about 2 hours one day with a DRBIII and the menu wasn't there (at least not that the 2 tech's and myself could find), the menu's were labeled different too.

It`s ILLEGAL in ca. to drive with the high beams and fog/driving lights on at the same time. so do not let the CHP catch you with`em on

Many drivers in S. Texas drive with their fog lights on with low beams. I, personally, have no problem with them shinning in my eyes - they don't. They, by design , only illuminate the road a short way in front of the vehicle and off to the sides. If they are not properly aimed then they are like mis-aimed headlights - another story. As far as with high beams - we must dim them with approaching traffic anyway. I drive with my fogs on at night - Dodge headlights are terrible. My wife discovered she could do so with her 4-Runner (which has wonderful lighting) and said "WOW!, didn't know how much better I could see at night" I have never had any drivers flash their lights at me because of my fogs.

'06 and later Ram pickups have great headlights.

Technically, driving with fog lights on when no fog is present will earn a citation in some regions of the US.

I will make sure I keep an eye out for the Popo whenever I choose to break the law. I still prefer to see where I am going.
