If your headlight switch doesn't show the little green light below the knob when turning your driving/fog lights on and your fog lights don't work at all, is the problem:

1. Fuse

2. Switch

3. Both fog lights are burned out. Note: both lights stopped working at the same time.

4. Wire problem.

What test and in what order should I apply to correct the problem and regain use of the fog/driving lights?

Thanks!

Dave

I would simply check for power at the light sockets. Both bulbs prolly lunched. Mine did it. No power there ... go to the next higher (the relay) then fuse then switch.

the headlight switch is the same as the one in the dakota's, and dc had a problem with them in both truck (for fog light operations), my guess is that is where the problem lies. I replaced on in a friends truck and I think it was around $35 but I can't be sure

It wouldn't have anything to do they weather the fogs were burned out or not, they are down stream of the switch, so thtas out. What that does say is there is probaly a problem, up-stream from the switch. I would check to see if you have voltage on the incomming power supply. Also, most fog set-ups use relay's, so check that.

Nobody has posted the obvious so I'll point it out. The fog lights only work if the headlights are on low beam.

Why is that, it would be nice if they worked on the high side to.

You're gunna have to talk to DC about that one. I know somebody on here has found a way to bypass the relays and make it happen but I don't know what to tell you. If I had all the answers I'd be Oo.
