I've been interested in the folding tonneau cover that Dodge sells (Fold-A-Cover brand), but one previous dealer in California says the item was junk. Said 1 in 2 came back for hinge and water leakage prolems.

Can anyone that has this cover give me their opinion on how they like theirs? Would you buy another?

Thanks!

Check this thread:

It should also show up on your current product forum list since there has been some action today.

Was hoping for more comment beyond the 3 posts on the other thread.

Just curious about the longevity of the product after hearing from a previous dealer about their experiences. Don't really want to spend that kind of $ on an item that won't last if that's the general experience.

Feel free to e-mail me if you prefer not to post. tsmith@seapac.net

Thanks.

Ok, other than the guide rails coming unstuck it's been great. I fixed that with some stainless sheet metal screws. Mine is an older one. I gather from the other thread that the later ones can fold up so that the "stack" of segments is out of the way. If I need to haul something that requires the whole bed (fire wood) it's easy to take off with just two tools, a 3/8" wrench and a deep 5/16" socket. Then just pick up the folded stack of segment and lean it up in the garage. It locks so if someone want's to steal something it takes some work with tools to even see what is in the bed. I've had mine since the truck was new in '95 and it has 136K on it now. It's strong enuff to walk on. If I forget to snap the hold down straps when its folded up it will unfold at 70MPH on the freeway. The wild flapping in the breeze when that happens hasn't hurt it so far. #ad

The embarrassment and my wife's sarcastic remarks are hard to put up with.
