Recently made some and payed for some changes to my trucko. While in progress, I discovered a sensor directly aft (about 4 inches) of the oil filter that is barely hanging in its jack. It looks like I'm missing a clip or something that holds it in place.

I don't know what the sensor does (no codes) and it is staying in its spot but just barely. It wont take much for it to vibrate out and it practically falls out when the wire is pulled a little.

Both the plug and jack have a grooved ring around them that appears to be where a clip would hold them together. I don't know if I knocked it out or how long it's been gone or if it ever was.

The questions:

1. Am i missing a clip?

2. Who can get me one? The dealer can't figure it out and I can't find a 24 valve truck in the junkyards to save my life.

Any help is appreciated, Jeff

Are you sure this isn't the block heater? The block heater is behind and below the oil filter head and has a "jack" as you describe. The jack should have a threaded lock ring that secures the heater plug into the heater.

Dan

the ring for tightening it down is definately gone. but, if it's the block heater, i'm not worried any more as i never use it.

thanks for the input guys, jeff
