Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Follow up to lift pump survey

First lift pump went out at 29,000 , installed FASS. VP44 replaced under warranty after excessive 0216 code and dead pedal @ 47,000.

02/49900/QuadLong/stock/no failure/currently 12 idle, 8. 5 loaded, ? WOT.



Originally was about 14 idle, 10. 5 loaded, 9 WOT. I am trying to keep it at or above 8 psi when loaded to keep enough flow going to the injection pump. If it goes below 8, I am going to the dealer and request one under my extended warranty. If they won't help, then I am installing the STANADYNE Fuel Manager 33945 (10 psi regulated flow, up to 80gph, near the tank) and bypass the original equipment pump.

Downed Pump

99/2500 auto/4x4/VA box 53 cracked at 18,000 miles, lift pump failed at 18,001 Towed to dealer again. Current mileage: 46,000

01/2500/4x4/SLT QC/AT/89,000/no mods other than transmission box for lock up/also no lift pump failure

99/3500/4x4/SLT QC/5spd/84,000/van akien box,straight pipe/ no lift pump failure

The above 01/2500/4x4/SLT QC/AT/ @ about 100,000 replaced injection pump/ super chips plug in tuner

also new work truck 01 3500 100,000 no pump problems in the past 10,000

Would you recomend the FASS? also what does the 0216 code mean? dead pedal sounds like i need a lift pump replacement
