I see, the original question was whether or not a Duramax would overheat, somehow you changed that to durability... You're right, I won't keep my truck 500,000 miles. I seriously doubt you will either. Very few people keep them that long.

I'm not putting Dodge down. I've owned several and still do.

Does putting GM down somehow make up for other areas you may be lacking?

You say the tests are biased, I'm offering to do an unbiased real world test but it appears you're too afraid to take me up on it.

They can, and do overheat, so believe what you want, it is a fact. They also run hot, GM never solved the running hot issue, they just increased the cooling capacity, that is the reason for the clutch fan being on all the time when in hot (or cool with the 05 I had to drive) weather. And as for me keeping my Dodge past 500K, maybe I wont, but I will get a lot more money for mine than you will get for yours for the same miles on the odmeter. :)

My brother asked me if I would be willing to sell him my 04. 5, because he couldn't find one with a manual trany, you know the option you cant have with a DMAX. Owners just don't like to give up the reliable CTD's with a manual.

Some big bad DMAX is lurking out there somewhere, to race me up a hill, like I give a s#!t.
