I am looking for some lighting I can put just above my feet (foot well area). Did Dodge ever have an accessory lighting package for this?

I have this lighting on a Grand Cherokee and my older Grand Wagoneer and I like the extra light.

Dodge did offer an interior ambient lighting kit but it appears to have been dropped as an offering.

It was pricey, I looked at it for a year or so, then went with red led lights under the dash on each side and one for the floor console in the Mega.

$40. 00 versus $250. 00 for the Mopar kit.

I can share pictures and part numbers if you need them.

I too prefer having some soft illumination on the floorboards and console area after dark.

Mike,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Any part numbers you can supply would be great.

Also would like to know specifically what you purchased and what wires did you tap if you can remember any of the information.

Steve,

I will you a few pictures tonight to give you some ideas.

I used Grote Lighting Components but there are several other manufacturers that offer the same style of light and base.

2 LED Marker Light... . available in Amber, Red, or Green

Grote Industries: Product #47082 - Red

Mounting Base... . includes a short pigtail

Grote Industries: Product #43980 - Chrome

Pigtail that is included with the base kit, I just swung the ground wire around to the mounting screw.

Grote Industries: Product #67050 - 6" Long, Ring Terminal Ground, Blunt Cut Wire

The easiest way to get power is from the cigarette lighter, the harness that came with the Mopar lighting kit used that very same circuit.

Used 2 switches, one for the center console lighting and 1 for the footwell lighting. Always have the console light on, footwells are on during long night drives.

In the dark...

I can get better shots this weekend with the Nikon if you want... This Kodak doesn't do the dark shots as well.

Mike,

thanks for your time and effort in posting the information and pics. This has given me a lot of different ideas.

I'll probably try to find some very small LED lights to mount up under the dash for the foot wells and have them tied into the door and overhead interior lighting.
