GE, I did a search a few months ago for air bag overloads and found several suppliers. You can see the Rancho remote system at gorancho.com but it's hard to figure out their plumbing without actually seeing one. A guy I work with has one and answered my questions. All it does is pump up the shock with a very light compressor and they use a Schrader core type valve to bleed off the pressure. I think the Firestone site is ride-rite.com and I don't remember the Airlift site. I got a real cheapy compressor a couple years ago for emergencies. Firestone and Airlift both have standard and heavy duty systems. Even their standard duty units look 10 times better than what I have. I think you can just buy the compressor from either place. The HD compressors were kinda expensive so I'll use my cheapy til it dies! Craig

Thanks. I am too new to know what a Dave Fritz is or a TTMT. Just to add my experience here and mention that I had air shocks on my Chebbie with a filler valve mounted in the back bumper. Now why couldn't we keep this simple by putting a filler valve or two at each corner for the appropriate lift assistant? Just set the pressures when leaving home. Or is it so way cool to be able to adjust on the road? One could just use CShomer's cheap lighter pumps to make a change. Just some thoughts. GE

Phil,

Omigosh. Bird Creek. We have to talk. Did you just go outside and take that picture? Looks like a srw but your pics onsite show a red dually. Three trucks? I could see it..... yeah, sure... ... .

I came up to find my old cabin on Bird Creek after about 25 plus years away... and could not find it (or the Bar for that matter--guess it burnt--what a loss). Do you know this area? Our cabin was a 2 room on the left side of the road about maybe 4 miles back. It sat on a ledge and had a cable bridge over the creek below it. Ever seen it? Frame structure. Spent a great summer there in 1970... . Tell me about your springs. GE

PS Looks to me like you got that 4 wheeler and your dog out in Turnagain. Naughty naughty. Almost cost me my life out there one day .....

I built my remote system for my 5th wh. I hook and unhook a lot on vacations and got tired of crawling under the truck for the shocks and messing with the compressor for the bags. It's a bone jarring ride if everything is pumped up running unloaded. BTW, the shocks will get to 100 psi in about 5 seconds. It takes a couple minute to get the bags to 40 psi. Craig

George, those references are TDR userIDs/handles. If you run a search for posts by either, then check their profiles and follow the embedded links to their webpages and you'll get some cracking information direct from the mother lobe, so to speak.

Awesome! I did not know we could search this thing! Thanks and thanks Cshomer for the insight on not having remoter adjustments for the air toys. Thanks Crazy Horse for the overload spring information. What a rich motherload of excellent experience to tap into. GE
