One of the best accessories I’ve ever added.

We had a new Jeep Cherokee Limited rental. The stop/start drove us nuts as there is a noticeable ldelay. That delay might just get you hit if someone's coming at you from the other direction and you step on it for avoidance.
F-150's do it at intersections and it's creepy. Is the fuel economy increase worth the complexity?

Just want to mention that it arrived a couple days ago and works like a charm, no start-stop anymore.
And installation couldn't be easier.

My mother in laws 2015 Jeep had a push button on the dash that disables start/stop. I didn’t know what the button was for until I looked it up in the manual.

Our 2020 Ford Edge ST has that feature and when we get back North this spring it is getting a $89.99 plug and play module that goes in the wiring to the button and will remember the disable when the vehicle is turned off. I hate the auto stop and start nanny!!!! My first encounter was with a RAM service econobox loaner while having the RAM in for a recall a couple years ago. Why in god's green earth is the engine shutting off at stop lights in the Arizona heat?????

Auto what?
That's used in the last 25 yards of altitude descent (glide ratio of a rock) to ever so slightly soften the big crunch if the engine(s) fail to ignite in the intended timeline plan. Makes for even a more fun flight event that should be an added surcharge for the passenger tickets.

We used do do that. Well almost. :D

If we had a passenger onboard that was scared or new to helicopters, we’d roll the engines back to idle at a high altitude and dump the collective. Sort of an auto-rotation practice.

That usually forced a reaction. :D:D:D
Turns the helicopter ride into a hurly-copter ride? ;):D

First encounter was a 2005 GMC with the hybrid system. Test drive sitting in 110 weather with the AC off was enough to say "No Thanks!" including the tax rebate that was available. GM and fixing electronics when they go bad is just as bad as FCA. Now OEM's want to play with "High Voltage". o_O All I can say is "Good Luck!!!"

RAM service and Jeep Renegades ... Some have a way to turn the autostart off. Others I found to just tap the gas after stopping restarts the engine. Otherwise a Jeep Renegade is total POS. Even with the door ajar adjustment problem on a Wrangler and "seatbelt off plus door open safety nanny" wouldn't shift into gear in the middle of the Fing street after backing out... I still prefer them over the Renegade. I would not own either.

I disabled that horrible function on our 19 Grand Cherokee. ZERO money spent.

Disconnected a little module on the battery, now I get the "A" warning symbol on the dash all the time. No biggie to me.

It’s not uncommon for fixed wing to decent at or just above idle, helicopters... not so much :D

We fall at around 2500-3000 ft/min in an auto. Which isn’t crazy, unless you’re flying at 500’

It’s used for a lot more than the last 25 yards.

If your engine fails and the pilot fails to autorotate nearly instantly it’s all but impossible to recover the rotor rpm on most helicopters.

I should have expounded that it gets really busy in the Huey cockpit in the "last 25 yards" of the low level autorotate according to a good friend who survived, battered, bruised and broken, from numerous autorotate events in Viet Nam (most of the Hueys did not).;)

Obligatory thread content:
As far as the Start/Stop feature, when I was test driving some 2019 Ram 1500 Limiteds, unbeknownst to me, one had that feature. Startled me when I saw the RPM sitting at zero at a stop light when the light turned green at a busy intersection. So I instinctively headed for the ignition button and restarted the truck to zip away before the anticipated horns would start blaring. It took me a bit to remember that I had read in the brochure this feature was an available option. So, at the next light when I lifted my foot from the brake pedal it started...away we went. The whole process did feel a little delayed, but I wasn't looking at a "Christmas Tree" for the green light so it didn't really affect me either way. What's a quarter of a second anyway. I guess for city folk it may prove to be a fuel and smog saver, except in hot weather. There was a button on the dash you could push to disable it though. It would automatically turn the feature back on if the ignition switch was turned off then back on. For the price I opted for the truck with the 4 corner air suspension vs. the auto start/stop feature.
