This bearing failed ($375) because the inboard bearing inner race spun on the shaft. There should be a positive (key, loctite etc) way to keep the inner race from rotating. There was plenty of grease as well. You can see where both bearings inner races were rotating. They are nylon caged as well. another example af the American Way... Lowest bidder syndrome :{

Next step is to see if I can source the bearings themselves. Only hitch is the outboard bearing has a lip to set space between the two roller bearings. Timken should be ashamed to have their bearings used in such a sloppy manner.

The bearing number is JRM58000-SA, if anyone wants to hunt the bearings as well.

The rotor comes off when you pound the 8 lug bolts out of the holes. Spray em with bp blaster and put a lug nut on and SMack the nut with a bfh and it backs right out.

I have talked with a couple people who have replaced just the bearings. If you do a search on here you might find the part number. Otherwise I can dig it up for you.

If I remember right one of the races was not replacealbe?

Shot an email to a friend that replaced the bearings only on a couple hubs that still had good races. He said they did not hold up well and ended up replacing the entire hub assembly in less than 10k miles. I'll get the Timken PN if you are still interested.
