Competition for hp junkies with automatics

i just got a ats 5 star converter and shift kit what do you think the best way to pull this combo put it in D with tow haul un locked or just shift it from 1 2 then D any help would be great

For the 97? Lock out OD and manually shift. If you have 3. 54 gears I wouldn't think you'd need 3rd gear.
