I don't know how much more I can take... ... I just hate being screwed so bad - and sorry folks - their is no other word for it!!!!! So much for competition and a free market. Editor’s Note

For the last four months, the retail price of diesel fuel has been higher than the price of gasoline – a rather unusual situation. As a result, the margin between diesel fuel prices and the cost of crude oil has been higher than the margin for gasoline (see attached graph). With the end of winter a few weeks away (thanks to the groundhog), there is some indication that retail prices are heading back to normal – unfortunately, by sharp increases in the retail price of gasoline.

I was tring to cheer you up a bit you seemed stessed

I get about 18 if Theres a good wind blowing behind me

I Some what justified the Diesel prices by getting the CHASE MARATHON CARD I SAVE 10% on Diesel for 2 mths and 5% for life after that

THats $5 a tank for 2 mths and $2. 50 a tank for ever

Dont worry the Prices will go down when we own IRAQ after they get all built up and attack us and we kick there rears then we will have all kinds of oil .

I took the time to get you the link

I wish diesel was $2. 19/gl. here in New York. Right now in my area diesel is anywhere from $2. 29 to $2. 36/gl.

DITTO!!!!! Upstate prices are $2. 25-$2. 30. From what I can see (websites), we are now paying more than anyone else in the country, including Calif.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think we'll see $3. 00 fuel long before we'll ever see $1. 50 fuel again. Especially with them trying to adhere to the new standards for ULSD for 07. At least we don't live in Europe.

Am I wrong ???????

Don't you think that we are being taken advantage of with the cost of diesel??? There is no way - other than they can - charge more - in my case +30 cents MORE THAN REGULAR GAS! Even 10 cents more than premium. You know I often looked at folks who bought cars that required premium gas and I would think - What a Fool to do that! WELL - welcome to being more than a fool I guess!

i just paid 77. 9c /litre last nite , that works out to $3. 12 / gallon talk about getting hosed!Especially since i could probably put a shovel in the ground anywhere around here and have my own well to use.

I guess I don't get too bent out of shape about it. There's nothing I can do to change it, what good will getting mad do? Kind of like how I pay $100 a month for cable/internet. Seems kind of high, but there is no other alternative, what's a guy to do? It's just one of those things you have to pay for, and it's going to get a lot worse.

I fueled up this afternoon for $1. 97. I've thought about running gas in my CTD trucks, but I just don't believe they would make that same sweet rattle if'n I did. :D

Do what fleets do, but on a small scale: buy four 55-gal drums and an electric pump. Fill them when fuel's cheap or at an out-of-the-way place that sells cheaper than locally. With the predicted volitility of fuel prices in the near-term, this might pay for itself pretty quickly.

Or if you have a place to put it, get a big above-ground tank and have it filled when fuel's cheap.

Hammer ... I don't know what the answer is ... but here is what I want you to do ...

I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out, and yell 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!!!!!

The Arabs are simply buying us. There's only one thing that can stop them. You! So, I want you to get up now. I want you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the phone. I want you to get up from your chairs, go to the phone, get in your cars, drive into the Western Union offices in town. I want you to send a telegram to the White House. I want this diesel price gouging stopped now!!! #@$%!

Hey Hammer

Ared is right wait till you see the prices this summer your lucky you live in Wa where you run EPA I can guarrantee you we folks down here in california will see 3. 00 a gallon this summer. You guys in the EPA states will get a break untill the summer of 06 (ULSD) will catch you up to us then. Also quit blaming the so called "BIG OIL" for all the problems and ask yourself "would I like to have an oil refinery in my neighborhood if the answer is no then blame your self or all the left wing tree huggin Liberal's that block every project we come up with to produce more Gasoline, Jet and Diesel.

The State of Ca has 13 refineries that when all are running produce 43 million gal of finished Gas Jet and Diesel every 24 hours the state consumes 45 million. The state of Washington is in a similar situation with only four major refineries two at Cherry Point and two in Anacortes with two smaller independents in the So, and living in Wa you know how fast your state is growing :eek:you can only expect the supply of diesel to get worse.

I like how when Shell Oil was about to close the Bakersfield plant both our liberal senators did some side stepping to allow the plant to remain open.

Also there has not been a new refinery in Ca or Wa for that matter since the 60's Ca was in the 40's and 50's while Ca population has trippled.

Don't mean to start a flame just some things to think about

Tell me about it :(

Today when I filled up the station owner was there. He said they've been having to bring our fuel in from out of the area because Tri-Cities is using diesel faster than it can be supplied here. Been having to truck in fuel from Spokane and Moses Lake to meet demand :(

I read in a past "OVERDRIVE the voice of the amercian trucker" mag that small companies/owner-operators that have bid for jobs and have a set price are taking it hard! and its not getting any easier on them with the prices going up and up and up. Well they will bid for a higher price next time to compinsate for the fuel and then the buyer/reciever will have to push prices up also which in end will make the consumer have higher prices too!!! I dont enjoy the prices at all! what happen to diesel being much cheaper than gas?!?!? well screw it Ill run off road. pis on those people I bust my nuts for this country (taxes) and yet I get screwed at the pump! were a super power country... GET FUEL!

IMO I want to see another big rig strike! heck Ill go 45 down the freeway! I agree with FATCAT we all need to do something, not just TDR members but every darn diesel owner out there!

AHhhHHH!

I tell ya, what I've been doing is driving my TDI Jetta a lot more. I just drive my truck to work one day a week and a little on the weekends. I'd rather get 50-55 mpg then 18 mpg.

We need some more of those "Howard Beale" rants ... call your congressmen, call your Senators ... call SOMEBODY DAMMIT!!! :-laf
