Problem with grandpas car

computer hacker problem

I recently had the pleasure of meeting a very special lady. Her name is Mary, and she runs a sanctuary for animals in central Virginia called Caring For Creatures.

She started this venture in 1987 and has seen it grow to the point that she currently has 157 acres of rolling fields with heated and air conditioned facilities which house approximately 200 animals. They also have a Vet who is on site every day to see after the medical needs of their residents. Mary was kind enough to give me a tour of the facility.

This organization offers adoption services. The REAL beauty of this sanctuary is that they do NOT, euthanize any animal if they are not adopted. They are allowed to live out their lives at the facility!!!

If you have the time, visit their site, www.caringforcreatures.com

I'm sure that you will find a smile on your face as you browse through the information and pictures. Just knowing that there are people who care enough to devote their lives for our furry friends makes the world a little brighter.

God bless the good folks who run no-kill shelters, it's a crying shame how dogs and cats are mistreated and abandoned by boneheaded humans. Spay and neuter, folks - spay and neuter!

That looks like a truley amazing place, I have never seen anyhting like it. It is really a shame what other people do to these animals.

That's awesome. I always said if I won the lottery I'd start a shelter like that. Seeing some of these shows like Animal Cops on the Animal Planet network gets me #@$%! . People neglecting their so called "pets" . I think the same thing should be done to them. Tie them up to a 4 foot chain on a post in the middle of winter at 10 degrees with no shelter. I can't even imagine what my life would be like without my fury friends. Here is my American Eskimo "Junior". Thanks for the link RMRC. I'm going to pass it on.

I'm glad our dogs(2 Rottweilers and one lab/dalmationmix that we rescued) don't know how some dogs are treated!!

My mom says when she dies, she wants to come back as one of our dogs!!!

I hate to see a dog on a chain, but sometimes I think maybe we humanize our animals too much!!

A lot of the villages here have sleddogs that spend their whole lives on the end of a six foot chain. They use snowmachines nowadays andhave the dogs just because!!

Torque King Jay,

Junior looks exactly like our Winnie (RIP 1996 :{ ). We've had 3 Eskimos - Cupie, Winnie and Lucy; Cupie lived to be 21 :D , Winnie and Lucy 12.

Now we don't have any Eskimos but one of our current pack of 7 is a Samoyed - Casper the Friendly Ghost - Casper for short. Got him as a gift from a guy I knew when he was only 1 y/o. Found out when I looked at his "papers" he was born the same day Winnie died. Pretty freaky, huh? I always said if there's such a thing as reincarnation, Winnie would come back as a boy dog.

BTW, is Junior a yipper? Ours sure were. :)

God Bless Our Furry Friends

TKJ - Just noticed you're from Ohio - that's where we came from years ago. Lucky you - if you ever have a serious problemo with Junior just hop in your CTD and hustle over to Ohio State Vet Hospital. They are hands down among the absolute best in the world, I kid you not. It truly is the Cleveland Clinic for animals. Same state-of-the-art facilities and equipment as the best you'll find anywhere for humans. And CARING - right on down to the receptionist, Judy. They have all the specialties : Ortho, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Radiology, Dermatology, etc. Winnie had 5 major surgeries there, including an aortic graft. She lived 6 more years than the usual 11 month survival rate for the tumor she had. Dan Smeak, Chief of Small Animal Surgery - a legendary vet and all round great guy. Last July I drove 1200 miles one way to take Annie - 4 y/o German Shepherd - to OSU for surgery to have stones removed from her bladder. She's fine now and sure loved the long ride in the truck. Would never let anybody but Smeak and OSU Hospital put a knife to any of our little guys.

OK, I'm done now.
