My 06 will be here in about a week and after reading the threads over on the Diesel Truck Resource Site, I am getting a little nervous... Are any of you having problems with your 06??? There are several problems they are having. :--) :--) :--)

No problems with mine..... almost 6000 miles so far trouble free...

I added tires, fender flares, bed spray on liner, Roktech sensor and side steps.

Runs great... starts great... mileage is improving but avgs around 14. 5 in town and 17-18 on highway. My auto transmission is shifting crisp and steady with no hunting for gears empty or with 8 pallets of sod on a trailer behind me. Four wheel drive seems to work good as does my Limitd Slip rear end.

My only two complaints were the Michelin All Season tires that came stock on my 4x4 that I sold and replaced with Nitto Terra Grapplers... ... and also so far dealership cannot set my new 295 Nitto All Terrains in system for the speedo calibration... it appears the manual mode for changing pinion factor was removed for 2006. other than that it is great... .

Just remember everybody that has a problem will tell anybody that will listen... ... ..... the ones that are happy are out enjoying life :D

I will however be watching this thread cause I traded in a (perfectly normal operating 04. 5 for this truck :--) )

My only problem has been the G56 which was replaced under warranty. Freak thing, assembled wrong at factory. But only 1000 miles so far. Going to put another 1000 on it Friday towing 10,000 lbs so that should stretch its legs a bit.

I haven't been on the 3G forums a bunch but it seems I'm not reading too many complaints from the '06 owners, not nearly as much as there was when the '04. 5s came out (missing, white smoke, bad MPG, etc. ).

I got my truck Sep 9, and it has 9700 miles. No real problems, just little stuff:

1. Coolant leak from loose clamp -fixed (biggest problem)

2. Sirius radio cuts out... a lot (dealer says thats normal  )

3. Driver's seat rocks slightly upon acceleration (dealer says that the power seats do that)

4. Moonroof doesn't always fully close from vent position (just started happening)

5. Clunking in steering wheel - I think it's a sticky cable real (clock spring) but I haven't really looked into it (dealer can't reproduce symptom - and won't give me the chance to show them)

6. Front speakers are already making bad popping noises (worse than how the Infinity system normally sounds)

BTW, the dealer is Tuttle Click Dodge in Tustin, CA.

Again these are really minor things, and I still really like the truck (maybe even more if I can get the software update to improve the occasional long crank time and poor shifting performance. Dealer won't do simple software update; they want to keep the truck for a few days for diagnosis purposes, even though there is a TSB for this (Bob, perhaps I need to stop by your place).

Like my previous three Dodge trucks, I'm confident that this truck will be reliable, despite my having fun with it.

dozzer, you're going to love your truck! :D

Mine threw a check engine light at 250 miles. The first morning I started after using the block heater. 0514. Got the updated reflash and enabled the high idle, no problems since. Still real new with only 1200 miles. 48re shifts well, MPG rises with every fill up. I'm seeing around 15 in town and 19 on the Hwy unloaded. Have not pulled anything yet but that will happen soon. I love the truck and have zero complaints.

I have close to 15K on my 06 and havent really had any problems. I had an occassional clunk when starting intermitently but nothing lately. I put a quad xzt and have been getting around 16-17 with combined driving... can get 17. 5-18 strictly hiway @75. I would just get the truck and if anything does come up thats what the warranty is for... :)

Right you are bob. Just a little nervous because I have had zero problems with the 04. 5 and then i saw this. http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/showthread.php?t=95018

Good to hear from guys on here with no problems, Thanks.

Don't worry about that posting. The long cranking was fixed in Jan with a reflash. the check engine light was something about battery temp difference and it was fixed with a reflash in feb. My truck was built in early dec, but delevered in early march. Its going in tomorrow for both problems. All they do is reflash the ECM.

Hearing about problems is the nature of forums. Those that are having problems are looking for answers. The other 99% of the owner's don't bother to post when the truck is working.

When you go back for service get a front end alignment

done the factory will pay for It. This way your tires will last longer. After 12,000 the factory will not pay for It. :-laf

My '06 has 3000 miles. The only problem is the occasional long crank. The only disappointment is the poor highway mileage that I now know can be contributed to the gearing of the G56 trany. If I had it to do over I would go with the auto.

A/C vacuum problem....common

The vacuum switching on the 06 is fubar... will post fix when I get it. I am trying to put a 300c control in my truck.
