Earlier in this thread I said, "30 miles, no problems with my 06 Mega Dually.

Well, this morning the Check engine light stayed on?

This isn't a good start! Have appointment in the morning, will post results!

My '06 has 3000 miles. The only problem is the occasional long crank. The only disappointment is the poor highway mileage that I now know can be contributed to the gearing of the G56 trany. If I had it to do over I would go with the auto.

Mine is around 1000 miles, with the G56. On highway (which is 55mph around my way) I see 21 on the Overhead. 70% of my driving is highway at 55, 20% is country roads, 10% is 25mph city driving. My overhead stays around 18. 5, my pen and paper has been around 18. Now if I put my foot into it I can get the OH to drop. Also above 65 the OH drops pretty quick.

I am going in for the long crank reflash this afternoon, sure hope it don't mess up my MPG.

Congrad on driving 55 on the highway, I couldn't do that. Just got back from a 1000 mile round trip pulling a car on a open trailer. Averaged 11. 5 MPG. Last year, the same trip, same car and trailer but with my 98. 5 truck,auto,3. 54 rear, averaged 15MPG. I went with the 6 speed for economy not because I like to shift, my mistake. BTW, my overhead shows About 1 MPG less than by hand.

4000 K no problems at all, mileage increasing with each fill up. ( Got 20 going to Lake Charles @ 65). Shifts great of course I am breaking it in "like I stole it". Couldn't be happier. My 03 was a great 6 speed hand shaker but I really enjoy the auto. :D

My 06 will be here in about a week and after reading the threads over on the Diesel Truck Resource Site, I am getting a little nervous... Are any of you having problems with your 06??? There are several problems they are having. :--) :--) :--)

i haven't even burned half a tank yet, about 300 miles.

computer reads about 16. 4 now.

had a slight launch shudder turning left and going up a grade, Minor.

seems to have cleared up lately.

One thing I noticed was damage to the top of the first radiator when closing the hood. i had to slam it shut.

I adjusted outer stops and can now close the hood gently, no more radiator fin damage :D

other than that I love the truck.

you'll love yours. all havre some minor problems.

Had my truck for a month now, 2000+ miles. No problems at all.

I got good fuel mileage right from the start. Currently averaging 18+ per fill up (calculated) town and hiway. Overhead reads lower than I actually get. I drive pretty easy. The low ratio of the G56 doesn't bother me as much as I thought it might. And controlling my rpm's myself and putting all (or most) of the power to the ground really improved my mpg's around town over my '01 with a 47re.

Only complaint so far is how long it takes to "top off" the tank and the funny noise it makes when it shuts off. I like my '01's "chirp".

Those computer flashes make me nervous. My '01 was performing great but when it was in for some other warranty work (had quite a few problems with it..... some big, some minor) they flashed the comp. and I lost 10% in my mpg's and it had less power. They said there was nothing they could do about it.

Just the "battery temp sensor" reflashed today and all is well.

Oh, and now it has 89 miles on it Oo. :D :-laf

I'm on my second '06 Megacab 3500 this year. I traded my 4X2 to 4X4 and took advantage of the Chrysler 1. 9 percent financing offer. That made up for the loss I took on trading in so early. I put 6000 miles on the 4X2 and have 2400 on the 4X4 now. No problems on either. I have noticed the the transmission on the 4X4 makes some makes a low buzz/humm sound when taking off. Service said that is all normal and part of the electronic 4WD system. I am averaging 15. 5 city/hwy combined, but the engine is still breaking in.

Had the transmission, charging and starting reflash at 4200 miles. Milage went up considerably. Got a little better than 19 mpg hand calc. combo city/hwy. Now I have close to 6000 still with no problems. I hear a little ping (kinda like a gas enginge) but after reading other post found out I am not the only one. So I don't worry about it to much. If it breaks I will take it in and get a new one. I can say I love my Cummins. "Drive it like you stole it!"

Almost 4000 miles here. . and no issues other than I can't seem to drive it enough!!! Oo.

Getting around 14-15mpg in town!!!

Nice reading about your new trucks and I wish mine

Would get here. I bet It won't be here until the end of April. I am going from a dually,6speed std to a short bed,4 door and a automatic trans so the [Boss]wife can drive It. The 04 dually just sits In the garage with 8000 miles on It. Nice truck just to dam big to drive In the city. Parking a pain. All I hear Is why did you buy this dam thing. When she not happy nobody Is around here.

My brother bought a 2006 QC 4x4 3/4T 48RE to tow his 5th wheel for work. He has 22k miles on it with absolutely no problems. I talked to him the other day and he said it is the best truck he has ever owned.

My 06 has 18,000 on it and the only thing the dealer had to fix was a loose hoseclamp on the heater hose that was causing a very small coolant leak.

Was it that short hose between the turbo and engine (about)? I've had a problem with mine leaking as well. The dealer tightened the clamp (I took it in for something else, and mentioned that), but it starts leaking again after a while.

Yup, mine leaked also. The dealer "fixed" it and I havent seen anything since, hopefully it stays fixed. I have 12K on mine now. This is the only issue so far.
