I know there are some Duramax owner's hanging around here! I was wondering if the turbo's on Duramax's have a silencer ring. If they do, can they be removed for more sound like the cummin's. My buddy own's a Duramax and he thought my turbo sounded cool! Now he want's to do it to his truck if it's possible! :-laf Let me know so I can help this poor guy out! Thank's!

I dont think they have a silencer ring like our cummins motors do, but I do know if you put an open air filter kit on them they sure sing!

Tell him to get rid of the Dumbmax and get a Cummins. :-laf :-laf :-laf

Can't do much to make the turbo whistle more on a Duramax.



Tell him to take out the stock turbo and install a BD SuperMax. Then you can talk about sweet turbo whistle.

I guess I should tell him to do a motor swap w/ a cummin's and put straight axle in front! Then he might have a man's truck that sound's good! I alway's tell him that he has the same front end as a chevy cavalier. :-laf His truck is fast though! Thank's guy's!

THE BHAF does fit under the hood with the airbox removed. . At least in my 04. 5 Dmax.
