I'm wondering if anyone out there has done this or knows of anyone who has .

On the '99 that I had I installed a "Horton" fan clutch and there was a provision to manually switch on the fan. This was reassuring in case of a sensor failure, but also I used it as a braking drag when coming down hills with the heavy 5th wheel in tow. It was quite effective as I think the fan took about 30 HP.

Now we've got a 2004 and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to instruct the computer in order to bring the fan full onl for this kind of situation? I've spoken to a couple of service writers but their eyes just glaze over at the thought.

Any help?

Thanks

David

You will have to do a search on here, but someone has done this. It takes a 225 ohm resistor (don't quote me on that value) and a switch to ground, put on a certian wire. It fakes the computer into thinking you have reached 215 or 225 degrees on coolant temp and brings on the fan.

Matt400 has done this. Some time ago I was going to copy his work, but other things have taken priority.
