In 1994 Dodge comes out with the new "big rig" styled truck. It's a huge hit. In 1997 Ford changes the Superduty to have a raised center hood for the "big rig" look like Dodge.

Recently Chrysler releases the 300C. It's a huge hit. Shortly thereafter, Ford releases the "Ford 500". (since 500 is greater than 300 are we supposed to assume the Ford is better?)

In the late 90s Ford manufactures the worlds fastest production pickup: the Lightning. In 2004 Dodge comes out with the new fastest production pickup: the SRT-10.

Interesting.

In 1978, the fastest domestic production vehicle made was the Li'l Red Express.

A Dodge truck with stacks that ran the 1/4 in 14. 7 @ 93 MPH.

Was still ahead of the game. :)

The Ford 500 was to be released in 2001 or 2. But due to all of Fords financial difficulties it didn't get released till now. It was meant to compete with the Hondas and Toyotas, and to replace the Taurus. I belive that there were some engineering difficulties, seeing as it was a european designed car. It's been in production overseas for a few years now. Let's hope they have a better launch then the Focus, that was a nightmare for Ford. The Focus was one of the top cars in Europe before its US intro. They ran the first ones out of Wayne Assembly here in MI. But, Ford was plagued with problems due to cutting to many engineering/cost corners and UAW problems. They managed to screw up a free lunch, so what else is new?
