Heads up!! Road Checks in Colorado!

Biodiesel development being encouraged in WA

If you go to thedieselstop.com you will see all these powerjoke owners that are happy to make it to 1000 miles without a problem. What the hell kind of engine is that?

These people are happy about spending $45,000+ on a truck and it spends more time in the shop than on the road?

I dont get it. I keep seeing people order this junk and then they get ****** off when it breaks down.

I have never seen this in any vehicle before. The boys at navistar have really frigged this one up big time. I have seen posts about guys with 2000 miles on a truck and have had the engine replaced twice.

Sad, very sad.

There are only 4 things that matter...

1-Peterbilt

2-Dodge

3-Cummins

4-Harley-Davidson

2000 miles and 2 replacements IS bad

WHat exactly is going wrong in these engines? I ask because I have had several people ask about them and what I know about the new 6. 0s. I would like to tell them more than just "I have heard of engine problems and replacements in the first 1000 miles. " fuel system. block cracking? rods, crank, or other internals? I read the link from "6. 0 insider tells all" and didnt get much from it as for specifics. But I could have been having one of those days when I read it. I feel for guys that have to fork over $40K+ and then have it spend more time in the shop than on the road. Kind of sh@tty if you ask me.

I thought it was just assumed that they were going to have teething problems. Before I got permanently removed from the ford site. I saw a guy that said he was going to buy a cummins until they straighten it out. You woulda thought the guy was using the bible for toilet paper. He got jumped as a heretic.

Biggest prob seems to be the icp. Quite a few with broken rockers. The rockers have torque to yield bolts going to the block, which means to do it right, the head gasket needs replaced. Alot of injector o-rings leaking fuel into oil (ever run your motor on a 50/50 mix of rotella and #2?). Valves hitting pistons.

Turbos are a problem too, possibly from fuel in oil washing out the bearings.

I think I will go order one tomorrow.

This doesn't happen every day but today at 09:35 I saw an F-250 with the new PSD badge on the side riding on the back of a flatbed tow service truck. At 12:45 I saw another. An F-350 with the new psd badge on the side of a busy six lane highway. The flatbed driver was in the process of loading it onto the flatbed.

And to think I settled for half a crew cab in a crappy truck with a puny little I-6 Cummns for the 4th time... :p :D :-laf

Hmmm, I test drove one today. It was a 4x4 crew cab. I liked it, except the passenger side had a large lump where the feet go, and that made it cramped. I guess the footwell area needed the extra hump to acommidate the larger transmission. Very peppy engine. Smooth transmission.

I think they are run well enough to last for a test drive, the problem appears to manifest itself after 2-3 miles

:-laf :-laf :-laf That was good!:D

They are NOT junk. They are just used in the wrong application. They should be intended for mariene use. Mainly on the end of the anchor chain or as balast.

The four things that really matter.

Hmmmm. You guys forgot the number one thing, SEX,

now in perfect order

1. sex

2. Harley Davidson

3. Cummins

4. Harley Davidson

5. Beer

They aren't as bad as we're making them out to be. My Ford F3fitty driving buddy had to change his water pump last fall. It only took him two days!:p :-laf

The dealer wanted over $700.

POS psd

Our local f0rd dealer had a NEW 6. 0 ps in the shop with a fuel leak. The mechanic took it for a drive and the fuel leak got much worse. IT filled the crankcase woth diesel and then overflowed to the pcv valve into the intake. That caused the engine to "run away" The mechanic clamed 6000rpm!? He finally got it shut down. Sounds very scary. :--) I do not have the vin # of this truck but know the shop and can verify it.

All my concerns of BOMBing my truck and the warranty have just gotten so much lighter. Imagine the look on a new PSD owner who wasted no time in adding a few things to his new pride and joy, was denied his warranty engine replacement because "You have after market accessories on the engine. " The very same engine that has developed quite a reputation for suicide in bone stock configuration.

DAAAMMMMNNNN! :-laf Oo.

I am shuddering at the thought of spending 45K+ on a vehicle, only to have those kind of problems. Ford is kinda strugglin' right now. I guess they want to share their pain with the general public.
