Anyone have any experience in replacing these darn things? I got the clip off and the spring out but they don't seem to want come apart... ... hope there isn't a special tool needed!!!
If I understand correctly, you are trying to take apart a fitting type that has an internal spring on the female end and a bulge on the male end and you have removed the spring?
If that is the case then it should just pull apart. You might have to push them together or give them a twist to free the o-ring.
Here is that special tool that should have been used. I took an old pill bottle and cut it so that it would slid over the tubing and push the spring out to unlock the fitting.
I assume the tools shown just help you get a better grip on the lines..... I wanted to be sure there wasn't a trick I was missing, didn't want to tear up something..... thanks, should be any to find at a auto parts store... .
