OK , I think everyone needs to know who the dealer is . I don't think the S-WORD will fit that dealer ------ well may two ss at the end of a famous two word saying .

Im not trying to say this is true but that is what they said. I asked them if they sell alot of the new cummins and they said they have lines of people even for the new ones. Then he said it was too bad because either this or next year is the last year.

I thought that last year DC and Cummins signed a contract saying the Cummins engine would be in the Dodges until at least 2007. Up until this had been signed everybody was saying that they where going to put a 5 cylinder Mercedes engine in them.

Yep, I heard the same thing just the other day from a guy at work. He'd probably heard it from his uncle's wife's best friends hair dresser. :D

The salesman must have thought he was in a Ford showroom. Must have been lost.

This story goes around every once in a while. It wasn't true the 20 other times either.

I got this same story when I was looking for my new truck a few weeks back. When I told the salesmen that I prefferd the Dodge and the Cummins he said well you know Ford owns Cummins. When I asked him why they don't use them in their own trucks and he really didn't have an answer for that.

It was true that Ford owned 15% of Cummins in the 90s. They have since sold their interest in Cummins and they aren't in them anymore. Maybe someone should go back to that dealer and bring them into the 21st Century.

Go back to the dealer and tell him hes a jackass and should know about his own product instead of sitting on his computer looking at pictures of naked girls all day... .

I work in the tel-com business and the other day the local Ford dealer was having a "tent" sale at a local outlet mall parking lot.

I pulled up in my truck (right next to the tent where all the sales people and customers were) and got out to hook up some temporary phone lines for the dealer. My truck being kinda loud;) drew quite a bit of attention. One sales guy said "boy that truck is loud... . " I said "yep thats what a real diesel sounds like". Then my turbo lifesaver shut the engine off and another sales guy said "well that's a typical dodge it just died on you".

Then they started telling me I should have got a powerjoke etc. etc. I told them that the reason I bought the dodge is because it has a "real" diesel engine and that was my auto shutdown device that cools my turbo before shutdown. I then asked why the last time I was at their dealership I saw about 5 or 6 of the 6. 0 powerstrokes on pallets waiting to be shipped back to ford. They had no response other than the infamous "well you know ford owns Cummins".

 I then told them that if they knew 1/2 of what I knew about diesels they would know that is incorrect and that is a standard "lie" that ford folks use because they are jealous that dodge has a better diesel engine than ford. Then they shut up.

Well when I left I could not help but show them a little Cummins smoke... .
