Most people have no idea what is under the hood of a diesel pickup, hence the image branding with terms like, powerstroke, and duramax. Most people also don't know anything but the cummins name, but recognize it and feel good when they hear it.

The values are based almost solely off the year and mileage. Sure, there are some people that would pay more for a 5. 9 vs an identical 6. 7, but they are in the minority and are making that decision on what they want out of the truck, no different than paying more for a truck that is the color you like over another similar truck.

I guess im headed left...

Well i visited my 3rd Dodge dealership... At least this guy new what he was talking about. I get the same lecture though... They don't have what I want are are not very willing to go on the locator and look for one... he said other dealships don't really want to part with a pickup through a dealer to dealer sale until they can get new pickups. They used to have tons of pickups in inventory until the **** hit the fan... and the pickup that i want i can't seem to find it closer than 1000 miles away... frustrating... . the MSRP on the pickups im lookin at all are about 48-54K. New... and maybe i can get it for 38K? Seems like a stretch. does that sound about right... 3500 SLT QC DRW Black. I hear everybody talking about the amazing deals they got and i just don't see it now... If I wanted a 2500 i could see that they want to deal on them... Any dealerships in particular... I figure i have pretty much 3 options...

1) NEW... $$$ 38K+

2) Slightly used 08 $32K with 18K miles

3) Used 06 $29K with 33K miles...

I may just be ranting at this point but thanks for your input and listening.

Well, the old saying says it best "buy low, sell high". Thats what happens when the stocks dwindle from the over stock sales. I saw 5, 08 2X2 SLT CTD quad cabs go for 31K out the door 6 months ago. I purchased an 05 Arctic Fox 5ver for half the value it was worth in January, but now that time has passed, where the excess inventory was auction off or sold off. The RV company's that survived now have better leverage. Don't get me wrong, there are still deals to be had out there, it is just limited to the ones they couldn't sell, even with the discounts. Try the Left, I mean West coast, I'll ask my sales rep to see what they have available in a couple of days. Or you check their inventory on line at Frahm Dodge | Norco, CA 92860 They have a large inventory of trucks the last time I checked.

Your signature doesn't provide a clue where you live so members aren't able to provide any meaningful advice. Most of us know of a cooperative dealer who would try their best to assist you if you were near that location.

Hoepfully i fixed the location Question, In my Sig but if i haven't, I live in Northern Vermont... Its one of those little states up in the Upper right corner... But I frequent Eastern Montana, (still a resident there) Both seem to be far away from the pickups im lookin for. If im gonna be picky i guess im gonna have to travel... Thanks
