Can an ECM from a dodge 24 valve be put in place of an ECM on a 24V cummins in a ford F650 truck? The Ford or cummins ECM on this truck is governed at 2600 RPM which makes it horrible to drive. I put a Van Aaken smart box R which helped greatly, but you cant get enough RPM to pull a hill or even get up to highway speed in a reasonable amount of time. Cummins offered their performance help for a mere $2000, owner said no thanks. OR if this isnt possible would swapping to an HY35 give more midrange to compensate for the lack of RPM?

smarty might work... ... an FMS from blue chip will work, I don't see why a comp or the likes wouldn't work either.

Check to see if the VP44 is a '029' pump. These are the "midrange" pumps and I bet it is what you have. From my understanding, there is no way around the defueling because it is controlled by the electronics on the pump itself. I had this problem myself. #@$%!

Put a hrvp or a monster vp and get a nice lopey idle... . and smoke to boot!!!!!

Better yet P-pump it!!!!!!!!!!!

I will check out the pump. all I know is they replaced it once. considering the trouble he already had with it I dont think I can convince him to drop the cash for a "P".
