OK Gang! Put yer thinkin' caps on and step inside.

When they hear/see/smell that 5. 9 under your hood?

I'm sure some continue to dog the "dodge" thing, but aren't there plenty that say "cool" and "how much" and "I'd like to do that"?;)

You know Wade, most of our travels involve towing our trailer, so contact with other makes is mostly limited to RV parks - and even with our older ('02) truck, overwhelmingly find owners of other makes to be entirely cordial and gentlemanly in their comments concerning competing makes. To be sure, they all are entirely and understandably proud of their vehicles - as I am of mine - but they DON'T bad mouth other makes or ridicule their owners.

I might also comment that I have seen MANY outstanding examples of Ford and GM stuff in those parks, and have yet to hear any complaints of unusual failures or discontent from their owners - nor have I ever heard or seen any Fords or GM stuff that gave any indication it was on the verge of faiure. Sure, you hear of the ocassional transmission replacement - but you get that from all makes, as well as the scattering of other random minor problems - but by and large, they all seem to do pretty dern well, and have happy owners!

"WadePatton When they hear/see/smell that 5. 9 under your hood?"

What an awesome question, and one that I'd just love to hear the answer. I've been working on my Ford/Cummins for far too long or I'd already have the answer. (see signiture below)...

As a matter of fact, I'd like to know what I'd say when I hear/see/smell that 5. 9 under MY hood going down the road.

Basicly I'm lacking shift linkage to my auto, exhaust brackets for the 4" straight system, the electrical to the automatic and just a bunch of little stuff. But you'd think that I could find the time to work on it. NOT MUCH... ... . I WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW WHAT THEY SAY... ... ...

I can't wait for the Dodge guys to "hear/see/smell the 5. 9 under MY hood".

Got 2 neighbors that seem interested (1 owns 99 250 crewcab the other a 91 f350 cab/chassis) in the project.

Still waiting for FordCummins to ship a couple of parts. Meanwhile - I'm working on the wiring and fixing the other things that have gone bad on the host with 322,461 miles on the OD.

Most I talk to don't understand why anybody would not want a Ford-the best selling truck, etc. One guy who is blindly buying a Ford because his gasser ½ ton Chevy is a piece of junk and can't pull his camper to his satisfaction obviously did not look at anything else too seriously, because he though the Dodge was a V-8 :D :D :D
