I’m considering this for the locking hubs and big brakes and have seen lots of confusing/conflicting info about what’s involved. Anyone done it and remember the details? Is the tie rod taper really upside down?
What year is your truck. Sorry, I'm on my phone which doesn't show profiles. 94-99 tie-rod tapers are the same as Ford 92-97. Now I did have to wrap my tie-rod ends in shim material (beer can) because the diameter was just a touch smaller. No big deal though.
The below link is a write-up I did years ago. The pictures are gone, but some decent information with part numbers.
Remember when you're buying parts, the 92-94 and 95-97 outer knuckles, calipers, pads, and rotors. I believe all the other parts interchange. I will be posting almost all the part to do a Ford knuckle swap in the classifieds in a few weeks.
