Your Antena Base. is it white??

As I am starting to think about purchasing a new '16 Ram CTD I went to a local Ford dealer to further my general knowledge about the competition, what a WASTE of time! The first thing out of the salesmans mouth was this statement- "The CTD is a Ford designed engine, You know that Ford originally designed the CTD then sold the design to Cummins"

I just walked out of the Ford dealer showroom!

I guess now that the "Ford owns Cummins" has been beat to death, they have to start a different rumor!

So Ford designed the B-series Cummins and then used the 6.ohno!! in their trucks? Yeah, THAT makes sense!!

No if Ford designed it the air would have flowed through the head the other direction. And there would have been two heads! SNOKING

Actually the outside intake/center exhaust design is common on large industrial vee-design diesels. It greatly simpifies exhaust/turbo and inlet/intercooler plumbing. Here's a Cooper Bessemer LSVB-20-GDT power generation engine as an example:

Sounds like Ford salesmen are about as truthful as Hillary. :-laf

What do you mean? Do they attack Cummins because they have nothing good good under their hood? Now that we look at it that way, the two issues are very similar. Are you stumped or Trumped?

I didn't buy a Ford but look under the hood of the new Rams. I wasn't afraid to work on my 1993 or 2002 but this engine has me scared to do more than check fluids!

That happens alot more than you think. I was investigating the three trucks back in 2004 and heard both of the popular myths that Ford owns Cummins and will be installing them in Fords next year and that they were designed by Ford.

If you believe that I have some beautiful land for sale, and there is a beautiful bridge that goes to no where on it too!

Everybody knows Cummins was started by Buda, which became Cu-Buda, which became Kubota. So Cummins is Kubota.

Just purchased a new mega cab, but when I was at the Ford dealership checking out the new 17 superduty's the salesman informed me that ford makes Cummins motors. When I pressed him, he said that Cummins motors are built in FoMoCo plants. Truth?
