It's an 88 model I bought new in 89. still got it. it only has 74,000 miles. but it is a gas hawg. has a 460 big block in it. 5 speed stick.
ThanksGood looking old Ford. I love those old regular cabs.
Thanks, it's hauled a lot of wood out.
Someone should start a firewood truck thread.![]()
J, if thats what you use for personal harvesting you've got a much hungrier burner than I do.
I'm guessing you haul that from site to site with the new Ecoboost too, yes?![]()
The last dozer I played around with - a 450c - quite a bit smaller than the one above- bent the rearward axle on my tilt deck. It was the only thing I could get ahold of that would pull out my old f700 dump. An expensive lesson that I already knew....never let inlaws borrow your equipment.![]()
This F250 thread reminds me of a friends ‘88 or so. It was the first new truck to enter our fray. It was a white reg cab 5.0/ 5 speed. It was a nice truck, but it had problems, one which was a real safety item. The loss of a brake pedal on a (I forget which) full lock turn. Seems like a brake hose was too short and was tugging a caliper or something. I think it went unfixed.
I wouldn’t set foot inside it. Nope- not no Ford!![]()
Yep.I burn a lot of wood, but I'm lazy and load mine in a trailer. Does a truck pulling a trailer full of firewood count?![]()
An old Monster maul, I split a lot of wood with the big heavy thing. it's retired now that the hydro splitter was purchased.Thats a heck of an interesting maul!
I just replaced mine this year, got tired of fighting wooden handles and wondering when they were gonna go all MIG 6 mid swing. I bought a Fiskars, supposedly some type of shock absorbing fiberglass handle, its a real Cadillac. I split all my wood by hand, its been a welcome addition. Came with a lifetime warranty
You win.You guys can take all you want about your hand tools.........
..........I'd rather talk about what you use for a skidder.

About the same as you, the winters here are less severe every year. It was 80 yesterday. we rarely get snow anymore. How many cord a year do you go through? I average somewhere between 3-4 in a normal winter with our wood stove in the basement and the fireplace in the living room on occasion. Of course, it was so warm last winter, we hardly burned any at all.
